Philly Computer Club's Hackathons are get togethers among members for discussions and collaboration sessions. The direction of hackathons and projects being worked on are up to the attendees. Business partnerships are encouraged and are documented with the PHCC's Advisory Board so that it may draft contracts to protect individual parties' contributions and intellectual property.
Hackathons are also a good way for beginners to learn from intermediates and advanced individuals in whatever given area by being tasked with meaningful work to contribute to an end goal.
You must be a full fledged member to join a hackathon because a non-disclosure agreement will need to be signed to attend — which you would have done already on becoming a member.
Meetups take place on Saturdays between 12 noon and 3pm. Free parking is provided. You must be RSVP'd to a hackathon beforehand to attend (by reservation).
Hackathon focus areas are up to the attendees and sub-member groups are formed quite dynamically.

It all begins with a hands-on diagnostics appointment to determine where the problem areas reside with your machine. This appointment and the diagnostics are free. The technician will be a senior PHCC member that will give you the run down on what's wrong with your computer or other device and what can be done to fix it.
